Georgetown’s 2023-24 Bryce Harlow Fellows: Working Graduate Students Across Four Different Schools
The Bryce Harlow Foundation, which aims to advance integrity in the profession of lobbying and government advocacy, selected 27 recipients for its prestigious graduate school fellowships for the 2023-24 academic year.
About the Bryce Harlow Fellowship
The Foundation awards fellowships annually to exceptional graduate students who hope to pursue careers in government relations and lobbying. Bryce Harlow Fellows pursue graduate degrees part-time while working full-time.
The fellows, who must be committed to practicing government advocacy with the highest levels of integrity, engage in mentorship from the Foundation’s board of governors and receive a ,000 award to defray the costs of tuition.
Eight of this year’s fellows are Georgetown graduate students, representing programs across public policy, policy management, security studies and law.
Meet the Fellows
Georgetown Law Center
Patrick Wohl: Patrick is a Senior Political Representative for the National Association of Realtors. He is also pursuing a Juris Doctor of Law degree.
McDonough School of Business
Omair Mirza: Omair is the Vice President of Federal Government Relations with JP Morgan Chase. He is also working toward a Master of Business Administration degree.
McCourt School of Public Policy
Mika Alvarez: Mika is a Legislative Correspondent for U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nevada). She is also working toward a Master of Public Policy degree.
Ferdous Dehqan: Ferdous serves as the Legislative Director for the Afghanistan-U.S. Democratic Peace and Prosperity Council (DPPC). He is also working toward a Master of Public Policy degree.
Katherine Palm: Katherine serves as a Senior Program Analyst of Injury & Violence Prevention for the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). She is also working toward a Master of Policy Management degree.
Sarah Sapirstein: Sarah works as an Executive Vice President at ENS Resources Inc. She is also working toward a Master of Policy Management degree.
Walsh School of Foreign Service
Elborz Mazanderan: Elborz is a Government Affairs Analyst, HPM CONUS Specialist for Epirus. He is also working toward a Master of Arts in Security Studies degree.
Ivan Thirion: Ivan is a Program Analyst, U.S. Foreign Policy for the Open Society Foundations. He is also working toward a Master of Arts in Security Studies degree.
