In her capacity as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Graduate School, Maria oversees academic policies and procedures governing graduate education at Georgetown. In her twenty-five years at the university, she has held positions in faculty research development and sponsored research administration, department and financial administration, and public relations and event coordination. Immediately prior to her current role, Maria served as director of the Office of Graduate Fellowships & Awards, supporting graduate student research development and support services.

Maria also serves as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for graduate students on the Main Campus and in the Biomedical Graduate Education programs at Georgetown University Medical Center.
