To scale his skills as the AI sector expands, Choi is returning to school for his Master of Professional Studies in Artificial Intelligence Management through Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies this fall.

“My goal is to help organizations adopt AI while meeting rigorous security, governance and compliance requirements,” Choi said.

Choi, a senior developer specializing in the ServiceNow IT management tool, opted for an online program as he readjusts to student life for the first time since graduating with his bachelor’s in 2016 from the University of Maryland, College Park.

He will also continue working full-time during his master’s program. A Queens, New York native and current DC local, Choi looks forward to connecting with the Georgetown community both in-person and online over the next two years.

What motivated you to pursue a master’s degree?

As ServiceNow rapidly expands its generative and agentic AI capabilities, I wanted to deepen my understanding of how these technologies can be implemented responsibly in highly regulated federal environments.

What made you choose Georgetown for your master’s?

Georgetown’s location in the DC metropolitan area and its strong ties to government and industry made it the ideal fit for my career goals. The online format also provides the flexibility I need while working full-time.

What are you most looking forward to during your master’s program?

I’m excited to learn alongside classmates from a wide range of industries and build meaningful connections beyond the virtual classroom. As someone who lives in the D.C. area, I’m especially looking forward to the networking and community events throughout the program.

What advice would you give to others going through the graduate school application process?

Don’t let a non-technical bachelor’s degree discourage you — professional experience, military service and strong recommendations can be just as valuable. Focus your statement of purpose on how your unique background and career goals can contribute to the program.

What are your hobbies outside of school?

When I’m not working or studying, I’m usually on the golf course, playing pickleball or flag football or trying a new outdoor adventure like snowboarding or ziplining. I also enjoy exploring museums with my wife, watching Steelers games with friends, and planning our next international trip.
