Pursue a Master’s Degree (10% tuition scholarship)
If you’re seeking to deepen your expertise, expand your professional network, or transition to a new career, pursuing a master’s degree may be a valuable step.
Georgetown is offering a 10% scholarship on the base tuition to current or recently separated federal civil government employees. This scholarship is applicable to federal workers and affiliates applying for the Academic Year 2025 – 2026. Application must include proof of federal civil service employment or affected status. Some restrictions may apply. Affected current students are eligible for this merit-based aid through their respective programs, following standard university procedures.
In addition, we are waiving the application fee and extending the deadline to May 1 (or beyond for some programs) for those applying to start a master’s degree in the 2025-2026 academic year for nearly all master’s programs at Georgetown. (All master’s degree programs are eligible for the application fee waiver.)
Applicable programs include graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Foreign Service, School of Health, School of Nursing, Biomedical Graduate Education, the McCourt School of Public Policy, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Continuing Studies and select McDonough School of Business programs. You can explore our master’s programs across multiple disciplines here. Please contact the specific program for details.
Professional Certificates (30% Discount)
If you want to upskill, build new skills, or quickly pivot your career, we are providing short-term professional certificates across several fields at a 30% discount to displaced federal employees. (All certificates are eligible for the discount except for these programs.) For more information, registration assistance, and your 30% discount code, please contact the Georgetown School of Continuing Studies Enrollment Team at PDCprograms@georgetown.edu
Enroll in Graduate-Level Courses
If taking one or two courses with the option to pursue a Master’s degree in the future aligns with your goals, we also offer a visiting non-degree student program.
Enroll in Summer Courses
You may enroll in summer courses at Georgetown across a variety of disciplines without applying to a degree program.
Resources for Affected Government Lawyers
Pursue an LL.M. (50% discount)
Georgetown Law is offering a substantially reduced LL.M. tuition rate of 50% to lawyers who have a J.D. from a U.S. accredited law school who have recently left government service.
Applicants through this program may request an application fee waiver, and should apply through our direct application form rather than applying through LSAC. Application requirements, including the list of required documents, can be found here.
Applications must be completed (meaning all necessary documents have been received by the Admissions Office) by July 1 at the latest to be considered for a Fall 2025 start. However, we strongly encourage you to complete your application before June 1 in order to have time to receive your decision and plan your course selection in a timely manner.
