Throughout the first few weeks of the academic year, you will engage in a number of activities to become familiar with your academic program, the Graduate School, and the wider campus community. You will also learn about university policies and procedures, resources, support networks and activities available to you.
In addition, you will receive information about services and resources to support you in multiple ways from various offices and organizations. We encourage you to take advantage of these support mechanisms throughout your time at Georgetown University.

Get to know your peers from various academic programs as we kick off the fall semester.
The Induction Ceremony provides a platform for the President of Georgetown University, various school deans, and other key Graduate School and university executives to welcome incoming graduate students to campus.
They share important information that will help students be successful during their graduate careers at Georgetown.
During these information/panel sessions, various student groups, departments and representatives from Georgetown will provide information to graduate students and be available to answer questions about campus resources and policies.
Offices that frequently present information are: Graduate Fellowships & Awards, Graduate Career Center and Lauinger Library.
This Welcome Week event is open to all graduate students, new and returning.
The BBQ and Student Organization Fair is a great opportunity to network with students from an array of disciplines and learn more about the co-curricular opportunities provided by our graduate student organizations.
