Funding Opportunities for Academic Exchange with Germany
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has funding available for long-term research or study abroad in Germany. Under an arrangement with the DAAD, Georgetown University is able to designate two candidates who will be considered within a prioritized pool. The deadline to apply for consideration as a priority candidate is October 12. If you are a Georgetown student interested in studying or conducting research in Germany, please review our website for eligibility information and details about the application process.
This opportunity for academic exchange with Germany goes both ways, and this year we are thrilled to have German student Clara Cramer attending Georgetown’s Master of Science in Foreign Service program.
“I was looking for a graduate program that constitutes an ideal combination of theory and practice, that would provide me with a better understanding of the global interdependence of politics, economics and society, and simultaneously equip me with the practical tools needed to mitigate the conflicts that often result from the interaction of those three fields. With the Master of Science in Foreign Service, including Georgetown University’s ideal location, the program’s impressive faculty and the opportunity to specialize in my specific field of interest in ‘Global Politics & Security’, I was convinced to have found this exact program. To me, a graduate degree from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service constitutes the ideal next step towards ultimately reaching the career goal described above; specifically, I wish to pursue a career within NATO or the European External Action Service in order to be directly involved in the resolution of interstate conflicts.”
