2017 New Graduate Student Orientation: Aug 29, 2017, 9am – 1 pm

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences will hold the annual New Graduate Student Orientation on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  The New Grad Student Orientation will begin in the Rafik B. Hariri Building, Lohrfink Auditorium (2nd floor) with opening remarks from university executives and graduate school officials, including the University President and the Dean of the Graduate School.  After the welcomes, we’ll move to the Bunn Intercultural Center (ICC)  for several rounds of informative and useful information sessions pertaining to graduate student life at Georgetown, presented by students, staff, faculty and others.  At 1:00 p.m. all Graduate students are invited outside to the (free)  Welcome Back, Jack!  BBQ  that will take place on Copley Lawn.

For those students that previously reserved space on Campus Tours, those tours will depart beginning at 2:00 p.m. from the Car Barn patio (3520 Prospect Street, N.W. — corner of 36th Street and Prospect Street).



Graduate Student Welcome BBQ and Social Event:  Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Car Barn Patio (3520 Prospect Street, N.W. — corner of 36th Street and Prospect Street).

Dean Norberto Grzywacz and the Grad School’s Office of Graduate Enrichment will hold a welcoming reception and BBQ for all graduate students on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm on the Car Barn patio. Please come to the Car Barn and join us for food, drinks, entertainment, free t-shirts provided by the Graduate Student Government, and the opportunity to meet faculty, staff, organizations, and fellow graduate students.  (Please be sure to bring your GOCard, as well as your driver license or passport showing date of birth if you plan to drink wine or beer).
