In addition to the information on our website, prospective students can participate in several different kinds of information sessions to learn more about the admissions process and the graduate programs offered at Georgetown.

On-campus Information Sessions

These sessions are typically offered every other week from April through November. The on-campus visit consists of a presentation and a campus tour conducted by a graduate admissions officer. This is a great opportunity to see the university, learn more about our application process and graduate student life.

Sessions, which last approximately 90 minutes, are held in the Car Barn, which is located at 3520 Prospect Street, N.W., in the Graduate School Conference Room located on the fourth floor.

When you enter the Car Barn, you will be on the fourth floor. Turn left when you enter and proceed through the building and past the elevator and exit onto the patio through the back doors. Continue across the patio and enter the Graduate School through the next set of doors. The Conference Room is located to the left at the very end of the hallway.

Note that registration opens one month before each information session.

**Please note that Information Sessions have concluded for 2018. Future sessions will be scheduled starting in April 2019. Until then, prospective students are more than welcome to take advantage of our Self-Guided Tour.

Webinar Sessions

The Graduate School offers four different types of webinars: General, Special Topic, Q&A, and Admitted Student.  General Admissions webinars cover the same content as an on-campus session: background about Georgetown, the application process, financial aid, and some discussion of student life. Special Topic webinars provide detailed advice on different aspects of the graduate school application process. Q&A webinars give prospective students a chance to sit down with an admissions representative and ask questions about Georgetown and the application process. Admitted student webinars are for admitted students and cover what it's like to be a graduate student at Georgetown. 

Webinars will last anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour depending on the webinar topic, with a 10-25 minute presentation followed by questions. (Due to technical limitations, these sessions are capped at 100 attendees.)

Group Visits

We are able to host group visits, subject to the availability of our admissions staff.  If you are a faculty member, program administrator, or other student leader, you can request a group visit by sending an e-mail to In your e-mail, please include:

  • Information about you and your group
  • Requested date and time of visit (no weekend availability)
  • One or two alternate dates and times, if possible
  • A list of your students' Georgetown Graduate School programs of interest
  • Any accessibility accommodations necessary

We request at least two weeks' advanced notice for all group visits. For groups larger than 20, four weeks notice is preferred so we can reserve larger spaces.

For directions to campus, please visit here. The Graduate School's Admissions Office is in the Car Barn at 3520 Prospect Street, NW, and most visits will begin there. Note that there is limited parking on and near campus, and there is no parking available for vehicles larger than a van. Georgetown provides transportation from the Rosslyn Metro Station (Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines), the Dupont Circle Metro Station (Red Line), and the Georgetown Law Campus.
