Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships -- This program offers post-doctoral teaching-research fellowships of $40,000. Persons receiving their Ph.D. during or after June 2005 in any field of inquiry in the humanities or humanistic social sciences are eligible. The Theme for 2008-2009 will be “The Business of the University in an Age of Knowledge Transformations." Deadline: November 1, 2007
The Center also hosts a small number of non-stipendiary research fellowships for scholars working in the social sciences and humanities. Housing and an office will be provided. Duties include attendance/participation in Center lectures and a possible public lecture. Lasting for a period of six months to a year, these fellowships are intended for either graduate students with stipends or scholars on paid sabbaticals or with external funding.
Letters of application, addressed to the Director, should contain a brief statement of plans for research while at the Center, a resume and the names and addresses of two referees. Deadline: letters and supplementary materials should be received at the above address no later than March 30, 2008.
