Registration & Enrollment
All Graduate School students are required to register each Fall and Spring semester from matriculation to graduation.
In order to enroll and register at Georgetown University, new and recently admitted graduate students must first fill out and return the Enrollment Confirmation Form to the Graduate Admissions Office. This form was included with the letter of admission. Once the Enollment Confirmation Form has been received by Graduate Admissions, new graduate students will follow many of the processes oulined below.
For continuing graduate students, enrollment status is maintained by following the registration procedures outlined below.
All graduate students begin the registration process by meeting with their faculty advisor(s) in their graduate program to discuss their enrollment plans for the coming semester. Detailed information about registration procedures, with specific information for graduate students, is provided each semester by the University Registrar.
Once they have been advised, graduate students register via the Internet, using Student Access+, accessible from the Georgetown University home page. Online registration for graduate students is open during Early Registration (also known as "Pre-registration") and from the beginning of Regular Registration through the Drop/Add period.
Students need their Georgetown University NetID and password, both of which are supplied by the Office of the Registrar. Students who do not know their NetID and password should refer to http://uis.georgetown.edu/students/new.students.html for options to have their passwords reset. If you know your password but are unable to log into Student Access+, contact either the University Information Services (UIS) HelpDesk, (202) 687-4577, or the Office of the Registrar, (202) 687-4020.
Students who fail to register by the end of the Regular Registration period will be considered to have withdrawn and must contact the Graduate School for special permission to enroll; those who are permitted to enroll late will be assessed a late registration fee.
