The Guggenheim Foundation

The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation provides fellowships for advanced professionals in all fields (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, creative arts).  Fellowships for the performing arts are also available, but only for projects consisting of completely original material. Two competitions are held: one for the U.S. and Canada and a second for Latin America and the Carribean. 

Deadline:  applications must be submitted by September 15, 2008 for U.S. and Canada competition; December 1, 2008 for Latin America and Caribbean competition
