American Association of University Women

The AAUW supports aspiring graduate women around the globe.  A number of fellowship and grant opportunities are available for both U.S. and foreign nationals, some of which include:

  • 2008-09 American Fellowships:  support women doctoral candidates completing dissertations or scholars seeking funds for postdoctoral research leave from accredited institutions. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  Candidates are evaluated on the basis of scholarly excellence, teaching experience, and active commitment to helping women and girls through service in their communities, professions, or fields of research.  Deadline:  application must be postmarked by November 15, 2007.

  • 2008-09 International Fellowships:  are awarded for full-time study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported.  Deadline:  application must be postmarked by December 1, 2007 (expected).
