Newberry Library Fellowships in the Humanities 

The Newberry Library offers several short-term fellowships intended for post-doctoral scholars or Ph.D. candidates from outside of the Chicago area, who have a specific need to use the Newberry collections.  Scholars whose principal residence or place of employment is within the Chicago area are not eligible for most short-term fellowships.  The tenure of short-term fellowships varies from one week to two months, unless otherwise noted under the award description; however, a majority of these fellowships will be for one month or less.  Unless otherwise noted, the amount of the award is $1,200 per month, pro-rated for shorter periods.  Addiitonal information may be found on the Library's web site.
